The first group photo....and boy is Spud pissed!
First photo at 3 months.
Ain't he just the cutest?
What a great yawn!
(This was written on 12 June 07. Tater was adopted on the 7th)
Well, I cleaned up so much cat hair yesterday that I had enough to make a new kitten....and boy is Spud ever pissed at me! I think that it's going to take days before they can even be in the same room together.
OK, the new guy doesn't have a name yet, but he is the sweetest fuzzbutt! He rubs his head against mine, has given me kisses, and smooshes against my nose so hard that I think he is trying to wipe his boogers on me.
There really is a bit of story to tell about his adoption too. The German shelter wanted a note from my landlord, which I didn't mind because it's in the animals’ best interest. However, I didn't want to bother him and the German shelter didn't have any orange kittens old enough for adoption. A Belgian cat shelter about an hour's drive from here had a great kitten on their web page, but alas he wasn't old enough either. Today I went to three shelters in Holland. The first one had orange kittens, but again they were too young. I found a great 10 month female gray tiger at the second shelter, but she had to wait 2 weeks before she could be adopted.
So when I got home at 2:00pm I thought that I would take a nap, but something made me look up the shelter list for the Dutch province of Limburg again and I saw that there was one more place about 40 minutes north. I called and they had a male, red and white available. So I drove out, got lost about 4 times and finally found the place in the boondocks on a dirt road. When I saw they little guy it was love at first sight.
The best part is that their prices were the cheapest yet. So I made a small donation along with the purchase price. Tomorrow I have to get him a little scratching post though...and some better toys as he may be alone in his room for a while....poor guy.
I just know that Spud will like him...once he stops being a turd. Holy cow can Spud ever hiss, growls, moan, and cry!! But the little guy isn't taking it lying down. He hissed and growled right back...which has been pretty funny.
So please welcome the newest Weisbecker!
